I went to see "Alice in Wonderland" a few days ago.
I've read "Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There", which is the sequel of "Alice in Wonderland", and I really loved the world of Alice together with the illustrations done by John Tenniel that really match the atmosphere of the story.
This Louis Carroll's world-famous works are not only for the little kids. They have a bit dark and mad essences as well as the cynical perspectives, which create the literary lofty finish. There might be the points in the books that only the adults can realize their meanings.
As for the film, I simply enjoyed it and nothing more than that. The casting were perfect. Meanwhile, it is not necessary to see the 3D version, rather, I recommend to fully appreciate the Alice's world in 2D. Just for your tip for those who are going to see the movie, check the Mad Hatter's tie. It moves according to his emotion!
My personal feeling is that this kind of work can be wonderful only in the world of human imagination. Once it is filmized, it loses the original taste within the limited screen.
They looked very sorry because I was walking around for them and modestly insisted that they would try to find it on their own. Even though I was not in hurry and intended to help them out until they really got to the destination, I did not dare to force them to do so.
I'm now going to grab the book for the first time since I was a child and enjoy it over a cup of tea.
