Korea is making a bunch of noises again¡Ä

Korea has been opposing to call ¡ÈSea of Japan¡É recently and they claim that it should be called ¡ÈEast Sea¡É. According to their story, ¡ÈSea of Japan¡É is the name farced by the Imperial Japan and they check text books, maps, and website of each country to ¡Ècorrect¡É the name.

Yesterday, Korea found out that both US and UK has sent their opinion to IHO (International Hydrographic Organization), claiming that the area should be called Sea of Japan, not the East Sea. Now the Korean media are hysterically fueling the issue that US and UK betrayed them¡Ä

Just a second. It is pretty much the common-sense view that the sea is called ¡ÈSea of Japan¡É.

Firstly, should there be no Japan Islands between the Eurasia continent and the Pacific Ocean, this area would have been still the part of the Pacific Ocean. Thus, it is quite correct to call ¡ÈSea of Japan¡É. Secondly, the name ¡ÈEast Sea¡É is too obscure and confusing. There are many seas that locate the east part of the countries in the world. In Chinese, ¡ÈEast Sea¡É means the ¡ÈEast China Sea¡É in their language. For the Scandinavian countries, ¡ÈEast Sea¡É is the ¡ÈBaltic Sea¡É. For instance, if the US military announces that ¡Èthe North Korea launched the missile toward the east sea¡É, they would not be able to communicate properly where they are talking about.

Basically, ¡ÈSea of Japan¡É appears in the Western maps in 17th centuries, and both China and Russia acknowledge that the ¡ÈSea of Japan¡É is the correct name. Furthermore, the UN defined ¡ÈSea of Japan¡É is the internationally standard name.

I¡Çm really fed up with the Korean style to insistently make everything their owns whatever related to Japan by distorting the truth. They even oppose the contents of the text books in Japan! That is totally the intervention in our domestic affairs!! Enough!!!

It was a bit while ago, but I went to celebrate Shogen¡Çs B-day with many folks the other day. He has various friends in the various businesses throughout the world. I can see how much he is loved by everyone! It is indeed a great thing to get to know him in my life.

The story that I get to know him is quite full of wonder. The very first time that I saw him was on a cover of newly-published magazine. Having seen it, I thought he was a new Hollywood star or something. There was an interview article of Shogen, and as I read it through, I found him to be the man of depthful thought. Very impressive guy. Furthermore, regardless his Caucasian-like appearance, he is pure Japanese, you know : )

What I find interesting is that whoever I see either on TV or on magazine and I feel something at that time, I will definitely see him/her in reality later on. Although, Shogen and I are not seeing each other so occasionally, whenever we get together, we feel there has been no time lag since our last meeting. Our friendship goes across time and space, and thus he is a soul mate to me.

He is the modern day samurai and I hope he will more and more be in the spotlight on the planet! Happy b-day, again, Shogen!!

Many people have been suffering from horror of the latest earthquake. Some are running around to lay in food supplies, and some are scaring the hazards of radioactivity. The power of the natural disaster is indeed overwhelming and we feel our helplessness upon facing the mighty nature.

But, we should not keep focusing on its horribleness. Otherwise, we will fail to grasp what the disaster is trying to make us realize; it is appealing us to re-examine our life.

We are lost amid the flood of information and materials. Our senses are numbed in the hectic society. The disaster is trying to urge us to go back to our real humanity? Isn¡Çt it making us to feel our nothingness and teaching us to live humble life? Isn¡Çt it telling us that we should not take the family and friends for granted? Their existence is nothing but a miracle. Isn¡Çt it pushing us to live life the fullest in each moment so that we won¡Çt leave no regrets behind? Isn¡Çt it teaching us those who have more will be required more?

So, we must say ¡Èthank you¡É to the close people around. ¡ÈI love you¡É to the loved ones. ¡ÈI¡Çm sorry¡É, should we be on bad terms with someone. Reach out our hands for those in need. Smile at those who are in loneliness. Cast away our pride and arrogance and live humbly every day.

Stop setting our eyes on the negativities from the earthquake. It only leads us the bottomless swamp of fears and sorrows. We are now called to be a new person by washing away all the ¡Ètrashes¡É pilled up around us. It is the way to make the better Japan and brighter future!!
